Southwest Veterinary Symposium (SWVS) is offering an annual scholarship to support newly graduated DVMs in attending SWVS. The conference provides three days of continuing education, networking, mentorship, and leadership-focused programming that helps early-career veterinarians build strong professional connections and become involved in organized veterinary medicine.
This scholarship strengthens partnerships with our SWVS Partner States and introduces future SWVS CE Committee and Board leaders to the collaboration and relationships that make SWVS such a meaningful experience. While some states may not require CE for first-year graduates, SWVS offers an unmatched opportunity to network, explore career pathways, and jump-start involvement in the profession.
To qualify, applicants must be DVMs who graduated from an AVMA-accredited college within the last 12 to 24 months at the time of selection and represent one of the SWVS Partner States (Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, or Louisiana). Scholarships will be awarded annually as follows: Texas—two (2) recipients (one graduate from Texas A&M University and one graduate from Texas Tech University), and one (1) recipient each from the other Partner States: Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
